The original campus plans for the University of Florida at Gainesville were developed by the firm of Edwards & Walter. The Board of Student Publications was created in 1933 to assume functions of Faculty Committee on Student Publications. The board consisted of 3 faculty members appointed by the University President and 3 students elected by the student body. The head of the Journalism Dept. served as chair.
